My name is Tuka Alhanai, and I'm an engineer, scientist, researcher, professor, and entrepeneur. I like to determine the principles underlying our observations of the world, and to build systems that improve what we see.
I currently run the gamut at my startup which was awarded a (zero-equity!) seed-fund by the National Science Foundation. In a previous era (circa 2019), I graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Our paper "The Automated Venture Capitalist" will be presented at AAAI-KDF in February 2020.
I will be starting a Professorship at New York University - Abu Dhabi in Spring 2020.
Bill Gates highlighted my work on detecting cognitive impairment from speech as a frontier area.
My company (Ghamut Corporation) has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research Grant from the National Science Foundation.
